Hello Americans. How I treasure that title whilst living outside the USA for a two years. We really have many things to be thankful for in America. Clean streets (metaphorically and literally), public restrooms, milk that doesn't go bad after two days, clean water, efficient governments, among other things are things we won't take for granted.

| I did not get a shark bite but I did get a nasty 'bite' from some fire choral. Ouch. |
Last week, to prove our 'manliness' or just because someone invited us, we hopped islands to St. Maarten (or St. Martin, en francais). It was just a 2o minute flight and we were transported into a world unlike that of St. Kitts. I was so nice to have a break from life on one island and have a vacation on another. We proceeded to become even 'manlier' by going on a shark dive. Yes, a shark dive. We had a blast and I really face a life-long fear of sharks. They were amazing to see underwater. There was no cage just a few cinderblocks to hold onto. There were about four grey Caribbean Reef sharks. Big Mama was 7 feet long! She was skiddish because she got hooked on a fishing line and had a big tear in her side and by her mouth. There was one new one who hadn't been there before and a couple other 'regulars'. Fab, the shark feeder, would rub under there chins and they flipped over and looked like London getting her tummy rubbed. They were amazing to watch.
We had a great time in St. Maarten. yummy food, great friends, and relaxing time.
